What is Samata Health?
Samata Health is a startup that provides a digital platform to connect users with licensed therapists in their local areas. They offer both an employee mental health benefit and a public-facing platform for individuals. They’ve recently been accepted into Jumpstart Foundry, a healthcare accelerator.
Reimagining the search results page to help users find a therapist that fits their needs.
In this project, I redesigned the search results page to help users find a therapist that best fits their needs.
Though I can’t share my work publicly, here’s a general outline of my design process + timeline
Viewed 30+ user behavior Smartlook recordings and identified areas for platform usability improvement
Prepared and conducted 2 user research interviews to understand user needs when searching for a therapist
Analyzed 5+ competing websites
Iterated from wireframes to final visual redesigns of search engine results page on mobile and web devices
Presented design decisions to stakeholders (CEO & CMO) and considered feasibility of implementation with developers

A Blank Canvas
Working with Team Samata was my first time working at a startup. As such, there were limited design components existing already, meaning I was working with a fairly blank canvas. This freedom and flexibility was daunting yet invigorating as I was able to have more autonomy over my design decisions.
Early + Often Feedback
I found that getting feedback early and often was the key to having designs that were understood and liked by the whole team. By sharing my work with the other designer, I was able to see things from different perspectives and receive powerful feedback.
